Claire Thaler

Claire Thaler, violin (Tallahassee, FL), is currently pursuing her B.M. at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University under Dr. Carolyn Huebl. In high school, she was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra at Florida State University, where she studied with Corinne Stillwell. Claire has participated in other festivals such as Castleman Quartet Program, Madeline Island Chamber Music, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and LyricaFest. She has performed in master classes for Ayano Ninomiya, Laurie Smukler, Almita and Roland Vamos, and the Carpe Diem String Quartet. She performed with the FMEA All-State Orchestras for five consecutive years, and was invited to perform in side-by-side concerts with the New World Symphony in 2016 and 2017. Claire was a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar in winter of 2019, performing in two sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall. She was a winner of the 2020 Blair School of Music Concerto Competition and received 1st prize in the 2017 Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Claire was chosen as a recipient of an Education Grant from the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation and was awarded a Douglas C. Cox violin scholarship for his Opus 908 "Nachez" Strad model from 2016. Previous Young Artists Program participant (2019)
