Noah Godard

Noah Godard, composition (Moorpark, CA), was a 2021 YoungArts Finalist in music composition and has been a Los Angeles Philharmonic Composer Fellow since 2019. He studies composition with Brett Banducci, Andrew Norman, Sarah Gibson, and Thomas Kotcheff; and has had works premiered by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and ensembles including the Lyris Quartet, Bergamot Quartet, Nu Deco Ensemble, and Sandbox Percussion. Noah has participated in the MATA Jr. Festival, New Music on the Bluff Festival, and Sunset Chamberfest Young Composers’ Workshop. He also attended the Idyllwild Arts Summer Composition workshop and was accepted to Curtis Summerfest. He has thrice been named a finalist in the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards and received an Honorable Mention in the 2020 NextNotes High School Music Creator Awards.

Noah also studies oboe with Jason Kennedy and jazz piano with Matt Harris. He has been awarded scholarships to the Idyllwild Arts Summer Wind Ensemble Intensive, Idyllwild Arts Summer Jazz Intensive, and Stanford Jazz Institute; and has been accepted to play both oboe and piano in Ventura County, Southern California, and California All-State honor bands.

When he’s not playing or composing music, Noah enjoys growing bonsai, studying linguistics, and drinking tea.
