Angela Sun

Angela Sun, cello (San Jose, CA) began playing the cello at the age of eight. She currently studies under the tutelage of Adelle Akiko Kearns and Yoshika Masuda. She won first place in the string division of the 2019 MTAC VOCE State Competition, and in 2021 she won the Alan M. Keys Instrumental Award at the Pacific Musical Society Competition. Angela currently serves as the principal cellist of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. She has performed in masterclasses for Richard Aaron, Clive Greensmith, Zvi Plesser, and Hannah Roberts. Angela has attended the Tanglewood Music Festival, Boulder Cello Festival, and Vivace Music Festival. She is currently playing on a cello loaned by the San Francisco Symphony.
