Marcus Elliot Gaved

Marcus Elliot Gaved, double bass (London, UK), began his musical education in 2009 when he was accepted to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School, attending from 2009 to 2017. Caroline Emery was his professor and encouraged all her students to seek out opportunity London through the Royal College of Music JD and BA programs. During this time Marcus competed in occasional competitions and had the opportunity to travel and perform in the Bozar, the Berlin Konzerthaus and the Wigmore Hall in London. In 2017 he became a member of the LGT Young Soloists based in Zurich and had the chance to perform as a soloist and in chamber ensembles with them in Singapore, Hong Kong, at the Dresden Music Festival and in the Vienna Musikverein. This led to a recording of the Swedish Composer Jan Alm’s “Two Poems” on the album Nordic Dream. This, along with the Alderney Chamber Music Festival in the UK with whom Marcus plays joyously, have helped sustain a passion in chamber music. Marcus began an undergraduate degree in the Royal College of Music and now continues it in the Curtis Institute of Music where he now studies with Harold Robinson and Edgar Meyer.
