Yukiko Uno

Yukiko Uno, violin (Gifu, Japan), studied with Prof. Natsumi Tamai at the Tokyo University of the Arts, and she obtained her B.A. with the highest honor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the class of Prof. Pierre Amoyal and Prof. Rainer Schmidt. Currently she studies her M.A.Soloist at the Musik Akademie Basel with Prof. Rainer Schmidt as a scholar of the Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship.

Yukiko is a laureate at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, Oleh Krysa International Competition, a first prize winner of the Andrea Postacchini Competition, Chengdu Guangya Violin Competition, and a recipient of the Paul Roczek Award from Mozarteum University Salzburg. As a soloist she performed with the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Belgian National Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Lviv Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana amongst others. She took part in festivals such as the Yellow Barn Music Festival, Palermo Classica Festival, Pärnu Music Festival amongst others. Her musical mentors include Leonidas Kavakos, Maxim Vengerov, Midori, Viktor Tretyakov, and Szabadi Vilmos.

Currently she works as a member of the Japan National Orchestra alongside with her projects with chamber music and solo performances. Previous Yellow Barn musician (2021)
