
Ami-Louise Johnsson, viola (Stockholm, Sweden) is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where she has been supported by the Anglo-Swedish Society since the start of her studies. As a soloist she has performed with orchestras such as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and O/Modernt chamber orchestra and she regularly appears at festivals both in Scandinavia and Europe. In 2021 she was awarded the 2nd prize and the Dvorak Society Award at the Oskar Nedbal International Viola Competition in Prague. She also received a Junior award from the Hattori Foundation in London and was named a scholar of the Drake Calleja Trust. Her additional festival and masterclass appearances include IMS Prussia Cove, Festival Jong Talent Schiermonnikoog, Valdres Sommersymfoni and K&M fest Stavanger. She has broadcasted on Radio and TV, most recently on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ in London as well as Podium Witteman in Amsterdam. As a keen baroque player, Ami is also studying the Baroque viola with Pavlo Beznosiuk at the Guildhall.
