Anny Chen, violin (Ping Tung, Taiwan), is a Canadian-Taiwanese violinist currently pursuing her MM at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, with Tanja Becker-Bender. She completed her BM also at the HfMT Hamburg and has a Certificate of Higher Education from the Royal College of Music, where she studied with Dr. Felix Andrievsky. Her competition successes include the 2018 Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Instrument Competition, the Elise Meyer Competition and the 1st Shu-Te Sylvia Lee Violin Competition. As a soloist, Anny has performed at Wigmore Hall, and with the HfMT Symphony Orchestra and Cambridge Graduates’ Orchestra. She plays on a 1730 Petrus Guarneri kindly on loan from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and is supported through a monthly scholarship from the DSM.
