Edward Luengo

Edward Luengo, cello (Miami, FL)  has performed at the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Kronberg Festival, Music from Salem, Brussels Cello Festival, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad and will perform in the Next Generation Artist Series at BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts. He has received various awards including the First Prize of the Concurso Jóvenes Intérpretes, the Third Prize of the IX Carlos Prieto International Cello Competition, the Festival Ravel Chamber Music Prize, and the First Prize of the Buchet International Cello Competition. He has worked closely with artists such as Christoph Eschenbach, Olli Mustonen, Steven Isserlis, Gidon Kremer, András Schiff, and Dénes Várjon. He has also participated at festivals such as Festival Ravel, Festival MusicAlp, Kronberg Academy Masterclasses 2022, and IMS Prussia Cove. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, his principal teachers include Jean-Michel Fonteneau and Philippe Muller, and he currently studies with Frans Helmerson through the Professional Studies program at the Kronberg Academy.
