Eleanor Markey, violin (Boston, MA), began her violin studies at the age of three with Suzy Perelman in New York City. Since moving to Boston in 2012, she has studied at NEC Preparatory School with Magdalena Richter, Robyn Bollinger, and Isabelle Durrenberger. She has studied with Soovin Kim at NEC since 2022. Eleanor was a part of NEC Prep’s orchestral program for many years. She was also a member of NEC Prep’s Chamber Music Intensive Performance Seminar, also known as “CHIPS”, from its inception in September 2018 until May 2023. Her former chamber group Trio Giocoso was featured on the NPR program “From the Top”. Eleanor’s recent festival experience includes Chamber Music Northwest Young Artists’ Institute in 2022 and 2023, Music@Menlo Young Performers’ Program in 2022, Heifetz International Music Institute in 2021, New York String Orchestra Seminar in 2020, and Online Solo Strings Intensive in 2020.
