
Eliza Millett, cello (London, UK) has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in a number of UK and international venues and festivals such as the Musikverein, Philharmonie de Paris, IMS Prussia Cove, Aix-en-Provence, Peasmarsh and Mendelssohn on Mull. She is a Countess of Munster Debut Scheme winner (2022), an artist for City Music Foundation, and has appeared on BBC Radio 3, CBC Radio (Canada) and NPR (US). Eliza is a graduate of the University of Oxford and of the Royal Academy of Music (London) where she studied with Christoph Richter. An active chamber musician, Eliza is the cellist of the Kleio Quartet, Trio Cordiera (piano) and Trio Kurtág (string). She is a Britten-Pears Young Artist 2023 with her string quartet and piano trio, and is part of the Strijkkwartet Biënnale Amsterdam residences 2023-24. Eliza was a founding member of the Echea Quartet, who won the Royal Overseas-League Chamber Music Competition (2021). Eliza is committed to artistic programming and is the co-director of Smorgaschord, a new music festival based in Oxford. Highlights of Smorgaschord 2023 Festival include a Ligeti Day, including artists Danny Driver and a collaboration between Kleio Quartet and György Kurtág Jr.
