Harry Graham

Harry Graham, viola (Campton Hills, IL) is a rising sophomore at the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studies with Nicholas Cords. He began his training with Susan Posner and with the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he served as Principal Violist and as part of their honors chamber ensembles, the Maud Powell String Quartet and Hanson String Quartet. He has been coached by members of many major ensembles and orchestras, notably the Chicago Symphony and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, Harry was Principal Violist for the 2021 Illinois Music Educators Association District 9 Festival Orchestra, as well as a member of the 2021 and 2022 Illinois Music Educators Association ALL-State Honors Orchestra. Harry made his solo debut in May of 2019 as the winner of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra Philharmonia Young Artist Concerto Competition. In October, 2021, he won the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Concerto Competition, performing Paul Hindemith’s Der Schwanendreher. He was the recipient of the 2021 EYSO Robert Hanson Award and as a freshman at New England Conservatory was honored with the Presidential Distinction Award. With his own ensembles, the Vivace Trio and Scherzo Strings, Harry has also performed regularly at various events throughout Chicagoland.
