Itamar Prag

Itamar Prag, piano (Israel) began his piano studies at the Givatayim Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Mrs. Hannah Shalgi, attended the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, served under the status of “outstanding musician” in the Israeli Defense Forces and later attended the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University in the class of Arie Vardi. Currently, Prag is pursuing a D.M.A in piano performance with Dr. Ilya Poletaev at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal. His past teachers also include Asaf Zohar, Vadim Monastyrski and Daria Monastyrski. Prag enjoys a vibrant performance career as a recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician. He made his debut as soloist with Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble and later performed as a soloist with orchestras in Israel and abroad under the batons of Yoel Levi, Lahav Shani, Frederic Chaslin, Omer Wellber, Vag Papian, Alexis Hauser and more. He also won solo and chamber music prizes in Israel and abroad. Prag has performed in recitals in Israel, Germany, Poland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Georgia, USA, UK and Quebec and received scholarships from The America-Israel Cultural Foundation and Ronen Foundation.
