Jessica Sharkey

Jessica Sharkey, violin (Baltimore, Maryland), studied viola performance with Jeffrey Irvine at Cleveland Institute of Music. Next month Jessica is moving to Scotland and will continue her studies at the University of Glasgow. Prior to studying at CIM, Jessica was a preparatory student at the Peabody Institute of music, studying with Rebecca Henry. At Peabody she participated in many honors, silver, and signature recitals. In 2010 she was selected as one of four representatives from the USA to perform at the Inaugural Youth Olympic Games as part of the World Youth Orchestra in Singapore. In High School, Jessica performed Mozart Sinfonia Concertante with Jonathan Carney and the Baltimore School for the Arts Orchestra.  She has participated in summer festivals in the United States and Europe, including studies with Helen Callus, James Boyd, Hsin-Yun Huang, and Ivo Wan der Werff.
