Lily Jonsson, viola (Seattle, WA), began her musical studies on the piano, first taking lessons at the age of four. She later started playing the viola at age eleven, and proceeded to join the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras at age twelve. She began attending the Seattle Conservatory of Music beginning in 2018, and was the second-prize winner of the 2022 WMEA State Solo and Ensemble Contest in the Viola Solo category. She has also participated in numerous competitions on the piano, and was a gold medalist of the Seattle International Piano Competition Virtuoso Festival and Chopin Northwest piano competitions. Lily’s former teachers include Roxanna Patterson and Laura Coronel. She is currently a student at the Juilliard School (BM ’26) as a Jerome L. Greene Fellow, studying under Professor Carol Rodland.
