
Phillip Golub, composer (Pacific Palisades, CA), divides his time between classical music and jazz, as both a performer and composer. He has won awards from ASCAP, Downbeat Magazine, National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, New York Art Ensemble, Los Angeles Music Center, and Monterrey NextGeneration Jazz Festival. Phillip was a fellow at the Los Angele’s Philharmonic’s Composer Fellowship Program, under the direction of LA Philharmonic composer-in-residence James Matheson. The LA Philharmonic performed his piece Falling Action under the baton of David Afkahm. He has participated in the Vail Jazz Workshop, the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival, and select workshops and festivals under the auspices of the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute at Columbia University. Phillip currently is in the B.A./M.M. program at Harvard College and New England Conservatory, studying with Fred Hersch, Sohpia Rosoff, and Kati Agócs. Past YAP musician (2010-2012)
