Qianqian Li, violin (Shanghai, China), has performed chamber music with Roger Tapping, Natasha Brofsky, Brett Dean, Curtis Macomber, and Anthony Marwood, among others. In 2011, she and her trio, the Clara Trio, won the Honors Ensemble competition at New England Conservatory. Her other achievements include First Prize at the first Astana International Violin Competition (Senior Group), the Jules C. Reiner Violin Prize at the Tanglewood Music Center, and the Ishikawa Music Academy Award. Recently Qianqian was featured on Bach Marathon on WGBH in a live broadcast the First Lutheran Church in Boston. In addition to Yellow Barn, she has been a participant at the Tanglewood Music Center, Sarasota Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Calgary Music Bridge, and Ishikawa Music Academy. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Sarasota Music Festival Orchestra, Ishikawa Chamber Orchestra, and Asiana Chamber Orchestra, and has performed in major halls in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea and South Africa. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, and Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and has served as concertmistress of New England Conservatory’s Symphony, Phiharmonia, and the Chamber Symphony. She received her Bachelor’s degree from NEC and currently is pursuing her Master’s degree with Donald Weilerstein as the recipient of the Lauren Lesser principle scholarship. She currently plays on an Amati violin made in 1600 loaned to her by The Colburn Collection in Los Angeles. Past Yellow Barn musician (2012)
