Ryan Jung, piano (Clemmons, NC), is a passionate soloist and chamber musician with a commitment to new music. He has collaborated closely with renowned composers such as Tyshawn Sorey, Nico Muhly, Thomas Ades, and with notable artists such as Richard Goode, Dénes Várjon, Sō Percussion, and the Emerson String Quartet. He was recently a quarter-finalist in the 2023 James Mottram International Piano Competition in the UK, and won 3rd Prize and the Special Contemporary Music Award at the Wadsworth Piano Competition in 2022. Jung made his Lincoln Center solo debut in Alice Tully Hall in 2021 and has since performed at prestigious international festivals including the Lucerne Festival, the Music Academy in Santa Barbara, Prussia Cove, and the Aspen Music Festival. Ryan holds a Master’s Degree from the Juilliard School and a Bachelor’s from the New England Conservatory. In addition to pursuing his DMA at the CUNY Graduate Center with Conor Hanick and Jeremy Denk, he was recently appointed staff at Juilliard under the Music Advancement Program.
