Sarah Kave, cello (Los Angeles, CA), has been playing cello since she was six years old. A student of Jonathan Koh, she is a rising junior at the University of California, Berkeley. Before university, she studied with Clive Greensmith for four years and attended the Colburn Music Academy. This past winter, she served as the principal cellist for the New York String Orchestra Seminar under the baton of Jamie Laredo. She has appeared on NPR’s “From The Top” as both a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Walt Disney BP Hall, and the Wallis Annenberg. She participated in the National Youth Orchestra for two years and toured as a principal cellist, performing Mahler’s fifth symphony. Sarah enjoys exploring other genres of music with her electric cello and has recorded tracks for artists of all genres: rock fusion, indie pop, hard rock, and jazz fusion. She has performed numerous times at The Baked Potato, the oldest jazz institution in Los Angeles, with Santana bassist Benny Rietveld, as well as the historic Whiskey a Go Go. She is an avid film lover and enjoys a good walk.
