Walter Van Dyk

Walter van Dykactor (Peasmarsh, England) most recently performed his Kurt Weill cabaret O Moon of Alabama at the UKARIA Festival in Australia along with Schoenberg’s Ode to Napoleon. Future engagements in the UK will include playing the role of Sir Edward Elgar with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Mark Wigglesworth in their 2025 season. A performer on London’s West End stage, Walter also appears frequently on screen. He recently performed in the series Steeltown Murders and The Gold (starring Hugh Bonneville) for BBC1. He played opposite Jodie Foster in the feature film The Mauritanian. Last summer he took on the role of Haushofmeister at Garsington Opera in Ariadne auf Naxos (available online at operavision.eu). He has narrated with Angela Hewitt and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra at the Trasimeno Music Festival in Italy, and with orchestras such as the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Irish Chamber Orchestra. In addition to Yellow Barn, his festival appearances include the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival, Lincolnshire International Chamber Music Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, Cheltenham International Music Festival, and Music for Salem in NY. Previous Yellow Barn guest artist (since 2001)
