
William Kinney, violin (Santa Clarita, CA), began his studies at the age of five and is currently a student at the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Ayano Ninomiya. His previous teachers include Aimée Kreston at the Colburn School, and Dafna Low-Smith. He has participated in masterclasses given by Rachel Barton-Pine, Philip Setzer, Almita Vamos, Niv Ashkenazi, Limor Toren-Immerman, among others. William is passionate about chamber music, and has performed as a member of the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Interlochen Advanced String Quartet Intensive, the Colburn School’s Ed and Mari Edelman Institute, the Pasadena Conservatory Chamber Music Program, and others. During his high school years, he was a member of the American Youth Symphony, the California All-State Orchestra, and he served as concertmaster of the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra. William currently performs on a 2015 S. Zygmuntowicz violin generously on loan from The Maestro Foundation.
