
Yixiang Wang, violin (Xi’an, China) has performed with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Xi’an Academy Orchestra several times as a soloist. She has played chamber music with musicians including Yo-Yo Ma, Qing Li, Wu Man, Hsin-Yun Huang and Steven Mackey. In recent years she received fellowships from Yellow Barn, the Perlman Music Program, the Bowdoin Music Festival, the Music Academy of the West, and the New York String Orchestra Seminar. She worked closely with Merry Peckham and Mai Motobuchi at NEC, Julia Lichten, David Geber and Todd Phillips at MSM, Laurie Smuckler and David Bowlin at Kneisel Hall, and the Takacs Quartet at the MAW string quartet fellowship program. As a passionate chamber musician and educator, Yixiang has spent 2 years at the Kneisel Hall chamber music festival both as a young artist and as a mentor for the Maine student program. She also has her own violin studio located in Boston where she explores teaching and engaging with young violinists. Yixiang is a student of Donald Weilerstein and Nicholas Mann.
