
Heasu Christy Cho, violin (Seoul, South Korea), studied with Stephen Larsen, and Natalia Lomeiko in New Zealand. Heasu spent the first year of her bachelor’s degree at Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute with full scholarship and is currently studying with Soovin Kim in New England Conservatory. She took first prize at the Korea Heyri National Music Competition, second at the Music Education News Competition, grand prize at the Korean Music Contest, second prize at the New Zealand Rotorua Competition for chamber music, and first place in the Christchurch Music Competition Society of New Zealand. Heasu has performed as a soloist with the Incheon Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the New Zealand Christchurch Schools Music Festival Orchestra. She was invited to give a solo performance for the New Zealand Boarding Schools Association in 2007. Heasu has attended Rabidol Music Camp in Korea, New Zealand's Akaroa Music Festival Camp, the 2nd Eumaksekye Summer Music Festival in Korea, and the Music@Menlo Chamber Music Festival- Young Artist program as a scholarship recipient.
