Ran Kampel, clarinet (Tel-Aviv, Israel), has been a top prize winner of several international competitions and has been featured on radio and TV stations in Germany, Israel and across the US. Ran is currently a clarinet fellow at the New World Symphony with whom he performed in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and in the Casals Festival. As a soloist, he performed the Nielsen clarinet concerto with the New World Symphony and the Colorado College Music Festival Orchestra. An advocate of bringing music into the community, Ran enjoys leading chamber groups in performances that interact with a variety of audiences outside the concert hall. His Inside the Music concerts at the New World Center (which are curated and available to stream online via New World Symphony’s MUSAIC) invited the audience to explore and actively partake in the process of music making. Ran received degrees with high honors from USC Thornton School of Music and Eastman School of Music. His primary teachers were Yehuda Gilad, Jon Manasse, Andrew Brown and Eva Wasserman-Margolis. During the summers, Ran has performed at Salzburger Festspiele, Schleswig-Holstein, Tanglewood, Lakes Area, Aspen, Norfolk, Colorado College and Sarasota music festivals. Past Yellow Barn musician (Summer 2015-2016).
