Erin Nishi, violin and viola (Honolulu, HI) attends Yale University as a student of Kyung Yu at the Yale School of Music. She has won awards and performed solos with the Hawaii Symphony, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival Orchestra, Maui Chamber Orchestra, Kamuela Philharmonic, and most recently, with the Yale Berkeley College Orchestra. She has served as concertmaster and in principal positions in the Yale Symphony Orchestra, Hawaii Youth Symphony, and Punahou Symphony. Erin previously studied with Ignace Jang of the Hawaii Symphony and Helen Higa of the Punahou Music School. She has attended many music programs including Domaine Forget De Charlevoix International Music Festival in Quebec, Indiana University Summer String Academy, Hawaii Chamber Music Festival, and Pacific Music Institute. She has performed in masterclasses for Hilary Hahn, Augustin Hadelich, Sarah Chang, and Ray Chen, among others. Outside of music, Erin enjoys hula, Japanese tea ceremony, crocheting, baking and fishing.
