Noah Jung, clarinet (Hoffman Estates, IL) began playing the clarinet at age three and is a graduate of the Colburn Music Academy, where he studied with professor Yehuda Gilad. Noah was selected as a finalist by the National YoungArts Foundation in the classical music category of their annual competition. Additionally, Noah received the first prize award in the Accademia Italiana del Clarinetto’s Web Clarinet Contest as well as prizes in the Silverstein Clarinet Competition. Noah played with NYO-USA for two summers, the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Colburn Youth Orchestra as principal clarinetist. Hosted by Jamie Bernstein, Noah has also performed Leonard Bernstein’s Clarinet Sonata with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia Festival- Bernstein’s 100th anniversary. He has also performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Colburn Sinfonietta after winning the annual Concerto Competition held at Colburn. Noah has been accepted to many of the top conservatories in the U.S., such as the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School of Music. He currently studies with Anthony McGill as a Columbia-Juilliard exchange student, where he also plans to pursue a degree in psychology.
