Sydney Feldman, flute (Menlo Park, CA) is a San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College student studying under Catherine Payne. She has won solo competitions such as the National YoungArts Foundation Competition and the Charleston International European Music Competition. In January of 2023, she made her solo orchestral debut with Symphony Parnassus after winning the SFCM-Symphony Parnassus Short Piece Competition. Sydney currently plays in the San Francisco Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing numerous concerts at Davies Symphony Hall. She also performed at the 2022 National Flute Association Convention in Chicago as a member of the High School Flute Choir. In 2022, Sydney participated in Eastern Music Festival’s 61st season as the youngest wind player, studying with Ann Choomack. She has played in masterclasses for Leone Buyse, Carol Wincenc, Marina Piccinini, and Denis Bouriakov.
