Chloe Lee, violin (Saratoga, CA), currently studies with Ian Swensen and Eric Chin at the San Francisco Conservatory Pre-College division, alongside her longtime mentor, Insun Jang of the San Francisco Symphony. She had previously studied with Zhao Wei. She is a YoungArts winner of the National YoungArts Foundation, and she has also won awards and performed at CalASTA San Francisco, Bay Area Creative Foundation, and the Jr. Bach Festival. She has worked with the Alexander String Quartet, winning prizes at the California Music Society. Chloe is a passionate orchestral and chamber musician. This year marks her fifth season at the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, where she currently serves as co-Concertmaster. Chloe has also been selected to be coached through SFCM’s Chamber Intensive with the Telegraph String Quartet. During the summers, she has been invited to and participated in music festivals including Tanglewood, Heifetz, Meadowmount, Bowdoin, and Aspen, as a scholarship recipient. As the regional director of the 'Back to BACH' Project, she organizes performances at local elementary schools to inspire a love of classical music among younger children. This fall, Chloe will continue her music studies under the tutelage of Li Lin through the Columbia-Juilliard exchange program where she plans to pursue a degree in the humanities.
