Luca Pasquini, composition (Denver, CO), is a New York City-based composer and pianist. He writes music for the concert stage and for dance and film, and his musical voice is inspired by multiple genres including indie and alternative rock, electronic, and jazz. His music has received recognition from the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, National YoungArts Foundation, National Young Composer’s Challenge, Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and more. Collaborating with new music groups such as the Playground Ensemble, the Fromm String Players, Dither Quartet, and Chamber Project St. Louis, Luca was recently selected to be a member of Salastina’s Sounds Promising 2024 Cohort. Luca has attended composition summer festivals at the Atlanta Music Festival and Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute where his music was chosen to be featured at Tanglewood on Parade at the Koussevitzky Music Shed. An advocate for diversity and accessibility in the arts, Luca was a member of Denver School of the Arts’ Arts Education Equity Initiative which aimed to tackle systemic issues in arts education across Denver Public Schools. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music at New York University’s Steinhardt School, where he studies under Justin Dello Joio.
