Ari Isaacman-Beck, violin (Boston, MA), is the violinist of Trio Cleonice, which recently completed the Graduate Piano Trio Residency at the New England Conservatory. With the trio, which won top prizes at the 2014 Schoenfeld International and Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competitions, he has given performances across the US and in Europe at venues such as Jordan Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. Ari won second prize at the Sion-Valais International Violin Competition and received the Josie and Elsie Scharff Prize from the Cleveland Institute. His performances have been broadcast on Public Radio in Boston, New York, Cleveland, and Minneapolis. Ari received degrees from the Cleveland Institute, Juilliard, and Mannes where he studied with Ronald Copes, Laurie Smukler, Mark Steinberg, and David Updegraff; most recently, he studied with Donald Weilerstein at the New England Conservatory, where he also served on the Preparatory Department’s Chamber Music Faculty. He has presented masterclasses at Oberlin Conservatory, the University of Hawaii, and Husson College, and has served on the faculty at Greenwood Junior Camp.
