Alejandro Gomez Pareja, cello (Madrid, Spain) was the second prize winner at the Pau Casals International cello competition, and has collaborated with musicians including David Afkham, Marta Gulyás, Alena Baeva, Marc Coppey, and Jonathan Brown. His international festival experience has brought him to Mozarteum in Salzburg, Brunswick University in Maine, Pau Casals Festival in Prades, and Rutesheim Cello Akademie, where he has worked with Maria Kliegel, Orfeo Mandozzi, Danjulo Ishizaka, Torleif Thedee, and Frans Helmerson, among others. He has performed as a soloist with the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, the Andrés Segovia Chamber Orchestra, and the Dreamers Orchestra, in both the Chamber Hall and Symphony Hall in Madrid’s National Auditorium. In 2022, Alejandro was invited by Auditori of Barcelona to perform Shostakovitch’s first cello concerto with Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona and Nacional de Catalunya, conducted by Alondra de la Parra. At the end of the same year, performed the same concerto with the Orchestre de Caen under Nicolas Simon’s baton. Highlights of his upcoming season will include his debut with the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, two recital concerts in Washington D.C., a chamber concert at Sociedad Filarmónica de Burgos, two recitals in Mahon (Menorca), and his participation at ICEP with Midori Goto in both Laos and Japan. He is currently an undergraduate at Escuela Reina Sofía in Madrid, where he studies with Jens Peter Maintz.
