Emely Phelps, piano (Port Jefferson, NY), is currently a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University, where she studies with Christina Dahl and performs locally with the Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Ensemble and Three Village Chamber Players. Emely has performed throughout the United States and Canada, most recently presenting solo recitals in Boston and New York, and has appeared in concerti with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic. Emely maintains a private piano studio on Long Island and also serves as the head piano teaching assistant at Stony Brook, teaching for and managing the undergraduate piano program at the school. From 2008-2016, Emely was the pianist of Trio Cleonice, with which she performed in more than 15 states, toured Europe, and won second prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition. The group also served as the Graduate Piano Trio-in-Residence at New England Conservatory from 2011-2014, during which time Emely studied with Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, receiving a Graduate Diploma in chamber music. Emely also holds BM and MM degrees from Juilliard, where she was a student of Julian Martin. Previous Yellow Barn musician (2014-2017)
