Meredith Kufchak, viola (Westerville, OH), recently received her master’s degree in chamber music performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Jodi Levitz. She completed her undergraduate studies in viola performance at Rice University, studying with Ivo-Jan van der Werff at the Shepherd School of Music. Her commitments in viola and chamber music have brought her to appear at such prestigious competitions as the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition as well as the St. Paul String Quartet Competition. Meredith was a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. She has made appearances at festivals such as the Olympic Music Festival and Tanglewood Music Center. She performs regularly with the San Francisco Symphony and the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and is the most recent member of the Santa Rosa Symphony. Meredith was also recently featured as a soloist with the Fremont Symphony Orchestra, performing Walton’s Viola Concerto. Past Yellow Barn musician (Summer 2015-2017).
