Ele Bienzobas, violin (Madrid, Spain), has extensive experience in orchestral, ensemble, chamber music and solo playing, both on modern and historical instruments, and focuses on repertoire from the Western tradition of written music —ranging from the Middle Ages to world premieres. Their chamber music partners include musicians such as Anton Kernjak, David Quiggle, Pablo Hernán, Adam Newman and Juan Pérez Floristán, ensembles like the Dostojevski Quartet and Pynarello, and orchestras such as the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra. Ele co-founded and co-directed a chamber music festival in Spain, and also created and hosted “Late Music”, a series of concerts and performances in Berlin. They are experienced in leading and conducting orchestras, both from the violin and on the podium. Ele studied violin with Olga Vilkomirskaya, Ana Chumachenco and Rainer Schmidt at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía and the Hochschule für Musik Basel. Gordan Nikolic and Claudio Martínez Mehner had a decisive influence on their approach to music interpretation, as did the HIP movement through the likes of Sergio Azzolini, Amandine Beyer and Christine Busch. Ele plays on a violin made by Paul Belin in 2022.
