Talya Buckbinder, cello (Fair Lawn, New Jersey), has played concerts in Israel, China, and Canada, at Tanglewood’s Ozawa and Koussevitzky Halls, the Kosciuszko Foundation, the Neue Galerie, and at Carnegie and Steinway Hall. She attended the Mannes and Juilliard pre-college programs where she studied with Barbara Stein Mallow and Bonnie Hampton. During that time, she has appeared as a soloist with the Bergen Youth Orchestra and the Juilliard Preparatory Orchestra. Talya has attended the Perlman Music Program and the Perlman Winter Residency in Sarasota since 2007 and has participated in summer music festivals at Kinhaven, Tanglewood, and Taos. In recent years she has studied chamber music with Vivian and Don Weilerstein, Roger Tapping, Merry Peckham and Annie Fullard of the Cavani Quartet, as well as members of the Shanghai, Cleveland, Juilliard, and Brentano string quartets. She currently studies at New England Conservatory with Paul Katz.
